1902 Terlingua Special Map  –      USGS,   full size: 3560×1536).  Note:  Terlingua is shown at the Mariposa Mine or California Mt..  The Chisos Mine, not yet owned by Perry (today’s Ghostown) is called on this map  McKinney-Parker Mine.

1884 Military Map of Western Texas –  (crop) Note TARLINGA PEAK is listed at what we know today as Hen Egg Mountain and Gomez Mesa is shown where Nine Point Mesa is called today.    Also,  Chopwind is shown where the area was later called “Whirlwind” (the late Evelyn Fulcher grew up with the later name in the early part of last century).  “Chopwind” is located North of Terlingua about 50 miles on Hwy 118 near Elephant Mountain where whirlwinds are often performing.     Click to enlarge map and save to enlarge further.

1908 Railroad Map and County Map of Texas  (crop).  What is interesting in this map is that the mail delivered to  the Study Butte Mine was called Big Bend at the time of this map.   Click to enlarge and save for detailed viewing.

1961  Highway Map of Texas   –   Terlingua in 1961  is titled here at the Post Office at Fulcher Rach on Terlingua Creek along  the Post Office’s prior location –  (the abandoned Chisos Mine later or today known as Ghostown).
